A quick and easy non-alcoholic sangria made with apple cider, fresh fruit, and warm spices. Perfect for fall gatherings, this kid-friendly drink comes together in under 10 minutes and is always a crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups apple cider (unfiltered preferred)
  • 2 cups apple juice (100% juice)
  • 2 cups ginger ale or sparkling apple cider
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 2 medium apples (Honeycrisp or Fuji, one red and one green)
  • 1 large orange (navel or cara cara)
  • 1 pear (Bosc or Bartlett)
  • 1/2 cup fresh cranberries (optional)
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 2 star anise pods
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small microwave-safe bowl, heat 1/4 cup of the apple cider for about 30 seconds until warm. Add the cinnamon sticks, cloves, and star anise. Let sit while you prep the fruit.
  2. Wash all fruit. Core the apples and pear (no need to peel). Slice into thin rounds or half-moons, about 1/4 inch thick. Slice the orange into thin rounds, peel and all. Rinse cranberries if using.
  3. Layer the fruit in a large pitcher: start with apple and pear slices, then orange rounds, then scatter cranberries on top.
  4. Pour the warm spiced cider mixture over the fruit. Stir gently.
  5. Add the remaining apple cider, apple juice, and orange juice. Stir gently to combine.
  6. Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, ideally 2-4 hours or overnight.
  7. Just before serving, gently pour in the ginger ale or sparkling apple cider. Stir once gently.
  8. Serve over ice if desired, making sure each glass gets some fruit slices. Garnish with a fresh cinnamon stick or cranberries.

Notes

Don’t skip the chilling step—the fruit needs time to absorb the spices. Add ginger ale just before serving to keep the fizz. For a hot version, skip the ginger ale and warm the mixture in a slow cooker on low for 2-3 hours.
