Ingredients

  • Aged cheddar, 4 ounces (115g)
  • Brie or camembert, 4 ounces (115g)
  • Goat cheese log, 4 ounces (115g)
  • Salami, 4 ounces (115g)
  • Prosciutto, 3 ounces (85g)
  • Pepperoni, 3 ounces (85g)
  • Crackers, about 20 pieces
  • Baguette slices, ½ baguette
  • Pretzel sticks or chips, 1 cup (about 30g)
  • Red grapes, 1 cup (about 150g)
  • Dried apricots or figs, ½ cup (about 75g)
  • Honey, 2 tablespoons (30ml)
  • Mixed olives, ½ cup (about 70g)
  • Almonds or walnuts, ¼ cup (about 30g)
  • Dark chocolate squares, 2-3 pieces

Instructions

  1. Take the cheese out of the fridge (do this first). Soft cheeses like brie need about 15 minutes at room temperature to reach their best texture.
  2. Wash and prep the fruit. Rinse the grapes under cool water and pat them dry. Cut the baguette into thin slices if using.
  3. Arrange the cheese on the board first, placing them at different spots around the board.
  4. Add the meat next. Fold salami slices in half or roll into cylinders. Drape prosciutto in loose ribbons.
  5. Fill in with crackers and bread, arranging them in small clusters around the board.
  6. Add the sweet and fresh elements. Scatter grapes in small bunches, place dried apricots or figs in little piles, and drizzle honey over the brie or goat cheese.
  7. Fill small bowls with olives, nuts, and any other loose items. Place the bowls on the board or next to it.
  8. Finish with optional extras like dark chocolate squares or fresh herbs.
  9. Serve immediately. Place the board in the center of the table or coffee table with small plates, napkins, and forks.

Notes

Let cheese come to room temperature for best flavor. Do not overcrowd the board; leave space between items. Prep ingredients the night before to save time. The board is very flexible—substitute ingredients based on what you have.
