These easy mummy hot dogs are a fun, silly, and genuinely delicious Halloween treat made with just 3 ingredients. Ready in 20 minutes, they’re perfect for weeknight dinners, parties, and picky eaters.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 8 beef or turkey hot dogs
  • Mustard or candy eyes for decorating
  • Everything bagel seasoning (optional)
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • Sesame seeds or poppy seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. Open the can of crescent dough and unroll onto a clean cutting board. If using perforated dough, pinch the diagonal seams together to create one solid rectangle.
  3. Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, slice the dough lengthwise into thin strips, about ½-inch wide (8-10 strips per can).
  4. Take one strip of dough and wrap it around a hot dog at a slight angle, starting at one end and working to the other. Leave a small gap at the top for the face. Don’t pull the dough too tight. Tuck the end under the hot dog to secure.
  5. Place the wrapped hot dog on the prepared baking sheet, seam side down. Repeat with remaining hot dogs and dough strips, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  6. If using candy eyes, press them gently into the exposed hot dog at the top of each mummy before baking. If using mustard, wait until after baking.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and puffed.
  8. Let cool on the baking sheet for 2-3 minutes, then transfer to a serving plate. If using mustard, add two small dots to the exposed hot dog area for eyes.

Notes

For best results, keep the dough cold until ready to use. If dough strips break, press ends together—they will fuse during baking. To make ahead, assemble up to 24 hours in advance, cover, and refrigerate. Bake straight from the fridge, adding 2-3 minutes to baking time. For air fryer: cook at 350°F (175°C) for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway.
