These easy turkey cheese pinwheels are a quick, 5-ingredient lunchbox solution that’s ready in 5 minutes. Made with cream cheese, deli turkey, and cheddar rolled in a flour tortilla, they’re perfect for picky eaters and hold up better than sandwiches.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • ½ tsp lemon juice (optional)
  • 4 (8-inch) flour tortillas
  • 810 slices deli turkey
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Soften the cream cheese by letting it sit at room temperature for 10-15 minutes, or microwave for 8-10 seconds.
  2. In a small bowl, combine softened cream cheese with garlic powder and lemon juice (if using). Stir until smooth.
  3. Lay one tortilla flat on a cutting board. If tortillas are stiff, microwave for 10 seconds between damp paper towels.
  4. Spread an even layer of the cream cheese mixture over the entire tortilla, edge to edge.
  5. Place 2-3 slices of turkey flat on top of the cream cheese, slightly overlapping to cover the surface.
  6. Sprinkle shredded cheddar evenly over the turkey.
  7. Starting from one edge, roll the tortilla tightly, keeping the filling tucked in. Place seam-side down.
  8. Wrap the rolled tortilla in plastic wrap or parchment paper and refrigerate for 10-15 minutes (optional but recommended for cleaner slices).
  9. Using a sharp serrated knife, slice the rolled tortilla into 1-inch thick rounds using a gentle sawing motion.
  10. Arrange pinwheels in a lunchbox or container. If layering, separate with parchment paper.

Notes

For best results, use room temperature cream cheese and chill the rolled tortilla before slicing. A serrated knife gives the cleanest cuts. These pinwheels taste even better the next day and can be customized with veggies, different cheeses, or spreads.
